The information collected by patients in this registry will be made available to lung cancer researchers directly involved in finding treatments for lung cancer. The information will NOT be sold or shared for commercial purposes of any type.
This site is meant to be a vehicle for
finding non and never smokers with lung cancer, creating a central
spot for collecting information (via the survey), and providing
patients, oncologists and researchers an easily accessible pool of
patients with a common affliction. We hope this will provide a
database that vastly expedites the possibilities, opportunities and
hopes for eventually controlling and curing this disease.
Other lung cancer sites such as lungcanceronline.org and
lungcanceralliance.org
(amongst many others), are doing a stellar job of providing
information about the entire lung cancer community in general.
Neversmokers.com does not attempt to be yet another such site, more
so an information gathering device geared to filling a specific and
newly recognized gap in lung cancer research, that being the both
common and unique traits, characteristics, histories and genetic
make-up of never and non smokers with lung cancer.
